Your voice, your choice
Era 100 is designed for ease of listening and mind, with multiple ways to protect your privacy. ''Privacy with a tap'' allows you to deactivate your voice assistants by tapping the speech bubble on top of the speaker. The light will also turn off. You will still have access to other mic-enabled features, like Trueplay. There is also a ''security with a switch'' feature, which allows you to make sure that no one accidentally activates your voice assistant by toggling off the switch on the back of the speaker. This disconnects all power to the microphone hardware for added security.

      The Skanda itself is wonderful, with clean sound and automatic EQ adjustment to the room for optimal sound. Two of these can act as rear speakers when paired with a Sonos soundbar on the same wireless network. The entire experience is ruined by the mandatory SONOS app, which is the only tool with which to control the speaker (you can adjust the volume, pause and control music, and use AirPlay without the Sonos app). To initially pair the speakers with the WiFi network on which they will be used, you have to use an app that is buggy, throws errors, throws the user out of their setup process, requires mandatory user registration, without which it is impossible to change anything about the speakers at all. Audio played through the SONOS app is regularly interrupted, the playback history tends to be empty, the app regularly asks to log in with a username before allowing you to control the speaker system.
